REAL NAME:
 

The characters real name is Charles Lee Ray. The media have nicknamed him as “The Lakeshore Strangler”. When he is transformed into a doll, he is known as “Chucky” or “The Good Guy Doll”.

ORIGINS/RESIDES IN:
 

He is originally from Hackensack, New Jersey but he now resides in California.

BACK STORY:
 

He has an Irish mother, who although comes from a wealthy family, works as a bartender and a dancer. His father was an Austrian immigrant who was an alcoholic and used to abuse them both. Not only was he a serial killer but he was also a voodoo practitioner. At the beginning of the film he is shot and mortally wounded but manages to hide himself away in a toy store. Before dying, he used voodoo to transfer his soul into a good guy doll. This is how he became chucky. In the later films, you see his girlfriend Tiffany Ray and their children Glen Tilly and Glenda Ray.

ENEMY(S):
 

Andy Barclay is his main protagonist in the first 3 films. He will also kill anyone who sees him or try’s to get in his way.

In his human form, he is played by Brad Dourif. Brad also does all of the voice over for him.

APPEARANCE:
 

In his human form he is tall with long auburn hair. When he is transformed into chucky, he is small with ginger hair, blue eyes and freckles. He wears a multi coloured stripe jumper, blue overalls and red sneakers. In the 4^th film he gets his infamous stitches, scars and red eye.

HEIGHT:
 

He is roughly about 3 feet tall.

PERSONALITY:
 

Apart from being a horror character, he is also known for his comedic value. In the first few films, he was a lot more serious, really laying on the scare factor. When Bride Of Chucky was released, he became more of a comedian, known especially for his one liners. He is the bad guy that you love to hate, similar to Freddy Kruger.   

FAVOURITE WEAPON:
 

He is widely known for wielding either a knife or an axe. He has used other weapons, but he states in “Bride Of Chucky” that he likes the old fashion methods.

He has featured in a number of his own comics and also guest starred in the Hack/slash comic. He has also starred in episodes from The Simpsons, Robot Chicken and The Cleaveland Show. As well as TV shows and comics, he has also been parodied in the films Mafia! and Stan Helsing.

POPULARITY:
 

When the film first came out, it was something that people had not seen before, a possessed doll with a tendency to kill. It was frowned upon for its childlike scare tactics. These days however, he has a massive horror and cult following.
